Oxford United have plucked promising goalkeeper Max Harris from non-league.
The 18-year-old stopper signed for the U’s from Evo-Stik Southern Premier outfit Hereford on a two-year scholarship.
Harris, who came up through the Hereford youth system, spent a week training with Aston Villa in August and last year represented both England Colleges and England Schools.
Harris excelled while on loan with Pegasus Juniors last season and made his Southern League debut for Hereford in a 2-2 draw against Barnstaple last April.
It is understood United would only pay a fee if Harris breaks into the first team.
