An Abingdon woman was struck in the face with a stone as she foiled a group of would-be burglars in what police believe may be a linked incident.
The 29-year-old sustained minor injuries after one of the four offenders threw a stone at her face for challenging them for trying to enter a property on Tyne Road.
Two men wearing scarves and baseball caps left a silver coloured Audi and attempted to gain access to the property by jumping over a fence.
The first offender is a white man in his late twenties to early thirties and around 5ft 7ins tall, while the second man is said to be slim, in his mid-twenties and around 5ft 9ins tall.
A stocky man with short dark hair wearing a white collared shirt and black suit, and a white woman with long blonde hair, were waiting in the vehicle that fled the scene after the attack around 4.30pm on January 14.
Investigating officer Detective Sergeant Jon Shaw who is appealing for witnesses said: “It is believed that this attempted burglary is linked to 16 other burglaries in the area since November 2017.”
