A second half Anthony Wright goal earned Banbury United a hard earned point in a 1-1 draw at Royston Town.
The midfielder netted on the hour to cancel out Martel Powell’s first half strike for the home side.
Royston began the game well, Lee Chappell striking the bar in the fourth minute. Five minutes later and they had the lead when a Powell strike hit the far post and nestled in the back of the net.
John Frendo then struck the bar for the Crows on 15 minutes.
Wright got United’s equaliser in the second half when he rounded goalkeeper Josh Tibbetts to slot the ball into a gaping net.
Royston dominated the closing stages but the Puritans held on for the point.
Tuesday’s point followed another 1-1 draw on Saturday, this time at home to Biggleswade Town.
The north Oxfordshire side took the lead just after the hour mark through a Luke Carnell header. Biggleswade snatched an equaliser six minutes from time when Robbie Parker bundled the ball home from close range to earn the visitors a point.
The two draws extended Banbury’s unbeaten run to eight games.
They are 9th in the Southern Premier division and host Stratford Town (15th) on Saturday before playing away at Weymouth (3rd) on Tuesday.
