An Oxford teenager was stabbed in the neck during a fight on Wednesday evening.
The victim, a 17-year-old boy, was involved in the scuffle with a group of people at the junction of Middle Way and Rogers Street in Summertown.
He sustained multiple injuries, including stab wounds to his neck and arm.
The victim was helped to the John Radcliffe Hospital by another person, where he remains in a serious but stable condition.
Oxford Force CID said they are working to investigate how the victim sustained serious injuries, but no details of the offenders have yet been released.
Detective Sergeant David Whittle said: “If you saw or heard anything unusual or saw anyone running away from the area please come forward and report this information to police.
“I would also like to appeal to the person who took the victim to the John Radcliffe Hospital, as they may have information which could assist our investigation.”
