The next Mary Berry could be in Didcot as Bake Off contestant Christine Wallace delivered a sugar craft master class to eager Oxfordshire students.
Year 10 GCSE students at Didcot Girls’ School made sugar flowers and Easter rabbits under the watchful gaze of the Great British Bake Off quarter finalist.
Food Preparation and Nutrition teacher Sara Jones called Christine’s occasional master classes the “highlight of the year”.
She said the school is “so lucky” to work with Christine as “the girls love talking to her about her time on Bake Off”.
Christine said: “The students are always so keen to learn and the successful results prove that they all have a genuine desire to do well. I never fail to be both pleased and surprised at what they produce after just one lesson.
“The next generation of ‘Mary Berry’s’ are on the way.”
Student Ashia Haggar said: “We had a wonderful and educational time with Christine. I loved learning new fondant skills.”
