A man has been charged following a drugs raid on a Cowley pub.
The 55-year-old man was arrested at the Nelson public house, in Between Towns Road, on Friday night.
He is charged with possession with intent to supply class A drugs.
A large sum of cash was also seized from another man as a result of the warrant.
Police officers tested areas throughout the pub with swabs and found widespread evidence of drug use.
The warrant came as part of Operation Relight, which is part of an investigation to crack down on the supply of class A drugs.
Supt Christian Bunt, local policing area commander for Oxford, said: “We will now be liaising closely with the management of the pub to look at any on-going issues there.
“Based on the findings from [Friday] night, we will consider if we have sufficient evidence to take the license to review.
“In the interim, the pub has voluntarily agreed to close.”
Richard Adams, environmental protection service manager at Oxford City Council, said: “Operation Relight again shows the real benefit of agencies working together.”
He was due to appear at Oxford’s Magistrates’ Court today.
Anyone with further information that may aid the operation is asked to call 101.
