A NEW Bicester comedy club has opened its doors and this month welcomes two big names.
Lone Wolf Comedy Club, based at bar The Atic, Pioneer Square, will see Lee Hurst and Paul Tonkinson take to the stage on Thursday, January 11, from 8pm.
It will mark the third month the bar has held a comedy event, run by resident MC and stand-up comedian Andrew Bird.
Andrew, who has written for TV programmes including 8 out of 10 Cats does Countdown and Lee Mack’s Duck Quacks Don’t Echo, and worked with big names including Lee Hurst, Rhod Gilbert, Rob Brydon and Michael McIntyre, set up the new comedy night because he felt it was what “Bicester needed”.
Lee Hurst, who is best known for They Think It’s All Over, has been running his comedy venue, the Backyard Comedy Club, acting as resident compere, since 2000.
But for the last two years he has been touring and in 2018 will head out again with his new show Mucking About.
Double award-winning Paul Tonkinson has supported Michael McIntyre as a special guest on his live shows around the UK and twice won Time Out Comedian of the Year.
