THE Oxford Playhouse is set to welcome physical comedy duo Acrobuffos with their show Air Play.
This show is described as “a modern spectacle that brings to life the very air we breathe”.
It takes to the stage for two days on Friday and Saturday, January 12 and 13.
Picture flying umbrellas, larger-than-life balloons, giant floating kites and the biggest snow globe you’ve ever seen.
Air Play is a circus-style adventure of two siblings journeying through a surreal land of air, transforming the ordinary into objects of uncommon beauty.
In this production fabrics dance in the wind, balloons have a mind of their own, confetti turns into the night sky and an enormous canopy of hovering silk forever alters their future.
Air Play was created by husband and wife team Seth Bloom and Christina Gelsone, who merge circus and street theatre performance art with the artistry of Daniel Wurtzel’s air sculptures.
The couple met at a circus in Afghanistan, were engaged while street performing in Scotland and married in China. Christina’s wedding dress was made of little white balloons.
Tickets for Air Play at Oxford Playhouse start at £10 and are available from the Ticket Office on 01865 305305 or view oxfordplayhouse.com
