Foodies in Banbury are preparing for the town’s two annual food events with the Flower and Produce Show and the Food Fair returning this month.
Residents will have a chance to demonstrate their creative skills at the Flower and Produce Show, while high quality food and drink produced in the area will be proudly displayed at the Food Fair.
The events will run alongside each other at Market Place on Sunday, August 20.
With seven categories and 99 classes, the Flower and Produce Show will give people the chance to win prizes for home grown fruit, vegetables and flowers plus preserves such as jams and chutneys.
Event organisers Banbury Town Council said there would be opportunities for cake makers, floral art designers, craft workers and photographers.
Former town mayor and businesswoman Rosemarie Higham, who will judge a special children’s competition, said: “The show continues to be a great success and I am proud to be part of it.”

Meanwhile, TV chef Rosemary Shrager will be a guest judge at the town’s Food Fair, which is open between 10.30am and 4.30pm.
Rosemary, who became a national favourite when she took part in ITV reality show I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here in 2012, will be joined by fellow TV food experts Andrew Scott, Nick Bennett and Saira Hamilton.
Cllr Colin Clarke, chairman of the council’s general services committee, said: “The Food Fair is one of Banbury’s most popular events and attracts thousands of people.
“Last year’s Food Fair attracted around 12,000 visitors. It celebrates everything good about food and drink.”
