JUST back from performing in Australia at the National Folk Festival, folk duo Belshazzar’s Feast head out on a UK tour, which includes a stop in Oxford.
Comprising Paul Hutchinson, of HooverThe Dog, and Paul Sartin, who worked with Bellowhead and is a current member of Faustus, the duo are now in their 23rd year together celebrating their unique sound of traditional folk music with a touch of classical and jazz, pop, music hall and topping it off with their own brand of wry humour.
They take to the stage at Oxford Folk Club, The White House, tomorrow.
Paul Hutchinson said: “We’re delighted to be making a long-awaited return to the wonderful Oxford Folk Club – home from home, as it’s one of the first venues to have booked us 20 years ago!
“This will be another chance to see old friends and meet new ones, and to wreak havoc at the Club and at BBC Radio Oxford during the afternoon. I hope Oxford is ready for us.”
Belshazzar’s Feast received a coveted nomination for the Best Duo Award at the 2010 BBC Folk Awards and are regulars at folk festivals across the summer, as well as touring including a popular annual Christmas tour of seasonal songs and tunes.
