Blackadder and Time Team star Sir Tony Robinson is the latest headline guest announced for a new comic convention coming to Oxfordshire.
The comedy legend will meet fans, sign autographs and take part in a live Q&A session during the inaugural Thames Con at Abingdon and Witney College’s Abingdon campus on April 28.
The comic actor shot to fame for his role as Baldrick in the classic BBC sitcom Blackadder and more recently presented the popular archaeology programme Time Team during its 19-year run.
In 2006, he was granted an honorary doctorate from Oxford Brookes University before receiving a Knighthood in 2013.
Festival organiser Zainab Mirmalek said: “I wanted to create an event that had something for everyone, that’s really inclusive and also entertaining.
“To have Sir Tony joining us for our first event is very exciting, I loved his comedic roles as a child and couldn’t think of a better headline guest for Thames Con.”
Hollywood stunt group 3RUN, who have worked on The Avengers, Star Wars and Pirates of the Caribbean, will be performing parkour for festival goers.
Blue Peter presenter Lindsey Russell, comicbook artist Lee Townsend, movie prop maestro Dangerous BoB, and Game of Thrones actors Josef Altin and Ross Mullan will also feature.
