Reigning champions Oxford University Whippets were knocked out of the Oxfordshire Shield with a 19-5 defeat at Wheatley.
Wheatley started the first round tie strongly, as they had in the league the week before, and took the lead through an early Aaron Laman penalty kick.
James Butler was then pushed over from a scrum, with Laman converting, as Wheatley made it 10-0.
The hosts continued to apply the pressure in the wet conditions and another Laman penalty extended the lead to 13 points.
The ferocity of the game left several players from both sides in need of treatment before the Whippets replied before the break when Russell Reid crossed for an unconverted try.
However, there was still time for a third Laman penalty kick to clear the posts for a 16-5 half time lead.
The fly half kicked the only points of the second half as Wheatley secured their place in the next round with the 19-5 win.
Elsewhere, there were wins for Littlemore, Alchester and Blue Boar.
Littlemore reached the semi-finals with a 33-12 home win against Abingdon, while a late penalty saw Alchester beat Harwell 13-10.
Blue Boar were handed a walkover by Faringdon.
The semi finals will take place on the weekend of January 6/7.
