On-fire Eddie Pepperell put in another superb performance to secure a top-10 finish for the fifth time in six competitions at the Italian Open.
The Frilford Heath member continued his rich vein of form with a fantastic opening round of 64 for a share of the lead after 18 holes.
The 26-year-old opened with three birdies in the first five holes. A bogey on the eighth was just a bump in the road as he carded three further birdies and an eagle on the 14th.
Pepperell slipped to sixth heading into the weekend following a mixed back nine on Friday but remained in the hunt with a second round of two-under par.
Another round of 69 followed but two dropped shots on the back nine pushed the Abingdon man out of the top-10 heading into the last day.
However, Pepperell produced when it mattered and a final round of 66 confirmed his sixth top-10 finish of the year.
Birdies on the first, sixth and ninth holes – with a bogey at the third – put him on course for another impressive round.
Another eagle on the 14th shot him up the leaderboard and a birdie on the 18th clinched a share of 10th.
Pepperell collected €103,398 in prize money for his clubhouse sixteen-under par.
He has moved up 28 places to 156 in the world rankings after his performance at the Italian Open, which was won by Tyrell Hatton.
