Witney parents clambered, crawled and climbed their way through a tricky assault course to raise funds for an inclusive play area.
A team of 15 Madley Park parents joined together as Team AMP to tackle a gruelling obstacle course raising more than £1,000 towards Activate:MadleyPark’s target for the play park.
The session, run by Gareth from FITBeing at Eynsham Hall, put participants through their paces with a log-carrying and tyre-bashing cardio set.
The mud-covered rain-soaked parents took on a variety of challenges such as clinging to rope crossings, scrambling through tyres and wading through streams.
Motivated by their £1,000 sponsorship target, the fearless group climbed up, through and over various obstacles before conquering a pond crossing while shivering in the 9 degree temperature.
The team’s original plans to take on the Monster Race at Cornbury Park were dashed when the company went into liquidation earlier this year.
Activate:MadleyPark is aiming to raise a total of £132,000 towards the new play area.
The plans for the play area include a wheelchair accessible trampoline, roundabout, sensory panels and accessible picnic table, in addition to a new climbing frame with slide and skate park.
