A conductor – complete with hat – kept a close watch as hundreds of train buffs enjoyed a model railway exhibition in Wallingford.
Cholsey and Wallingford Railway recently hosted the hands-on event for Mayor Mick Kidley’s railway show.
Children – and some adults – drove the model trains and there was information on the railway’s plans to develop the station at Wallingford.
Vice-chairman Tony Stead said: “It was so great to see and talk to so many people from Wallingford and the surrounding area.
“There was lots of interest in the future plans for the railway and the rebuilding of a station building in Wallingford.”
Membership secretary Sherwin Smith added: “It was pleasing to get a number of new and renewing members.”
An open day will be held on Saturday for a behind-the-scenes look at the railway.
