An Abingdon guest house has been named as one of the finalists in the upcoming VisitEngland Awards for Excellence.
Abbey Guest House, in Oxford Road is in the running for the Access for All Tourism Award category of the prestigious VisitEngland Awards for Excellence 2012.
The prizegiving will be held in Leicester on May 22, with the guest house and other finalists on tenterhooks to see which award they will receive.
All finalists are guaranteed to receive a Gold, Silver, Bronze or Highly Commended Award, and owner Terry Boswell said: “I am delighted and proud to have achieved a place in the finals of the Visit England Awards for Excellence.
“This recognises the improvements we have made that allow all guests to be accommodated to enjoy their stay in comfort.”
James Berresford, chief executive of VisitEngland, said “This is no small achievement in a year when we have received a record number of submissions.
“The quality of submissions this year has been outstanding and Abbey Guest House can justifiably take credit and pride in earning a place in the top 6 in their category in England.”
